This was fabulous! So easy! I had some Brioche sliced bread that was a little sweet for regular sandwiches, so I thought it would be good for French toast. I’ve not made French toast in many years. I found this recipe. I followed it exactly. I got rid of my griddle years ago, so I used my stove top. I did cut the recipe in half, since it’s just me and my husband. He said “you can make this again”! And I most definitely will! Thank you for a great recipe.

This is still our favorite recipe! Made it this morning using a homemade loaf of French bread, and I added a small splash of almond extract to the egg mixture. Perfect!

This is a favorite! Love that it is scaled for a whole loaf of bread. Leftovers for freeze and reheat well too.

I love French Toast and my Husband makes the best I have ever had! Safeway-the grocery chain-used to carry their own version of Cinnamon Raisin Bread with walnuts. When used to make French Toast it tasted like Bread Pudding and was so delicious! Can’t find it anymore-and have tried all sorts of bread-cheap to fancy and have found that “crappy white bread” as my Mother calls it-works the BEST! It just soaks up the luscious eggy-ness and is amazingly delish! Thanks for the great recipe and al the good ideas! P.S. You have a lovely Family! So cute!!
